AIESEC Colombo Central Local Committee

AIESEC is an international, non-profit organization run entirely by students and recent graduates of institutions of higher education. AIESEC aims to develop professional and leadership skills and cultural awareness in talented students and graduates. This is achieved through the facilitation of global internship programs enabling students and recent graduates to obtain a challenging professional experience at the same time as living an invaluable cultural experience in another country.

AIESEC, established its Sri Lankan chapter in 1995. 12 years later, AIESEC was initiated in University of Colombo, and is now known as the AIESEC Colombo Central Local Committee in the global network.

Students representing faculties of Science, Management, Arts, Law and UCSC comprise of its membership, which exceeds 60, and they benefit from the value based platform provided by AIESEC to develop their leadership potential.

AIESEC provides its members with an integrated development experience comprised of leadership opportunities, international internships and participation in a global learning environment and the students of Faculty of Science have always been keen to reap the maximum out of these benefits. Faculty of Science is proud to have borne several Local Committee Presidents of AIESEC Colombo Central Local Committee.

Aligning with AIESEC’s vision of achieving peace and fulfillment of human-kind’s potential, and the mid-term ambition of engaging and developing every young person in the world, AIESEC Colombo Central Local Committee has several initiatives and projects currently implemented.

An AIESECer differs from any other undergraduate due to several reasons: AIESECers are leaders, who have gained work experience and achieved personal as well as professional growth, discovered their true potential, and even before they leave university, they are armed with the necessary employable skills, have a strong local as well as international network which comprises of both students as well as prospective employees. Diversity is a part of their lives and they demonstrate integrity and sustainability in their actions. Above all, they enjoy being AIESECers!
