Heroes behind the scene

“Labour was the first price,
the original purchase,
money that was paid for all things.
It was not by gold or by silver,
that all the wealth of the world was originally purchased.”
-Adam Smith-

Heroes are numerous. Children love the fake heroes created by film directors and cartoon directors. Spiderman, batman, iron man and whatever the supermen and women… Although they were created to relish the senses of people they have made children to live in a forge world. Children are unaware of the authentic society and the genuine heroes behind everything. However, due to the current global crisis, everyone is learning to love the real-life heroes.

As we all know, heroes are those who do miracles on behalf of the betterment of powerless people. Today is the day that we respect the real-life heroes who silently work hard on the betterment of the world. The marvels we see today in this global village is the outcome of their perspiration.

World Workers’ Day, World Labourers’ Day, May Day…. there are several ways how today is named. If the pandemic was not here, today will be a day of mass meetings. All the politicians would start demonstrations representing their political parties with bogus spirits just with the sole intention of succeeding their political ambitions. But this year we have got the chance to think precisely on the celebration of May Day.

The Industrial Revolution that started in Britain was the beginning of the labourers or workers. The wealthy people who started huge industries and factories grabbed the labour of poor people. With the increase of demand for the products, the intentions of the pitiless wealthy people came true. But the working people had to work harder and harder without any favourable working condition. They worked for about 12 hours but got paid a meagre salary. Even the women and children had to work to earn their livelihood. Thus, the labourers had a miserable beginning.

When they couldn’t bear furthermore, they started fighting for their rights and as a result, they experience commendatory working conditions in the present. But the appreciation and respect they get is not enough.

For example, it is true that the wonderful road systems we travel today is well done because of the engineers who planned it. But the hard work was on the head of the labours. Their effort is priceless. But no one respects them or mention them. Instead, all the praises go to the head of a politician who did nothing.

Not only roads, almost every product like food, clothes and everything. There is a group of people who is responsible for the hardest work behind the scene but never praised. While the wealthy leader became praised for nothing these people came to be known as slaves and disgraced.

Have we ever thought that if this small man did not do this small thing we will have nothing to eat or nothing to dress and nothing to do? They do the things which we feel awful on behalf of us.

So today, let us become a strength to these great people and encourage them. Today is on behalf of those dearest silent heroes. We are grateful for their unselfish effort on the betterment of the world. Without them, these wealthy people would not be in their place. Working men are the secret behind the success of wealthy men. We respect the sweat they shed and the pain they bore on behalf of us. They are the real heroes behind the scene!
