2. The Aviator by Martin Scorsese: DiCaprio burnishes the legend of madman genius Howard Hughes by turning him into a flesh-and-blood character.
3. The Revenant by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu : The harsh conditions of the winter shoot in Canada and Argentina never blunted DiCaprio raging desire to embrace both the character and his visionary director’s spiritual intentions.
4. Blood Diamond by Edward Zwick: DiCaprio did not just ace the difficult South African accent, he immerses us in the turmoil of African revolution, exploitation and smuggling.
5. Django Unchained by Quentin Tarantino: DiCaprio plays the racist plantation owner we love to loath. But he did it with such vengeance, that in one scene where he smashes a drinking glass on the dinner table ,he continued in character with fresh blood flowing from his hand.

However at the finally Leonardo DiCaprio won an Oskar award last weekend for his remarkable role in “The Revenant” in year 2015 by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. The Revenant has received positive reviews from critics, with the performances of DiCaprio and Hardy. The Revenent, a violent, visceral and yet transformational story of frontier-era survival and revenge, is “inspirede” by the true story of historic American mountain man Hugh Glass. And The Revenant opened in limited release on December 25, 2015, and over the weekend grossed $474,560 from four theaters in New York City and Los Angeles ($118,640 per screen), finishing twenty-third at the box office. The film earned a total of $1.6 million from its two-week limited run before expanding wide on January 8, 2016, across 3,371 theaters. Leonardo has done an amazing part in this movie.
Absolutely this was an unforgettable moment not only for Leonardo, but also for all the fans of Leonardo DiCaprio. The fans were thrilled for Leonardo with tears of joy, jokes and record number of tweets. The hollywood-born DiCaprio looked like a shy, awkward teenager holding his glittering, gold-plated , eight-and-a-half pound Oscar when he was on-stage. Presenter Julianne Moore, who won best actress at last year’s awards waited respectable amount of time before announcing DiCaprio’s name as if to see if she could make time itself pause briefly in anticipation. Leonardo’s Oskar acceptance speech made sense in all the audience.
“Let us not take this planet for granted. I do not take tonight for granted”
these were the closing lines spoken by Leonardo at his speech, pointing towards the global concern of climate change. In his Academy Awards acceptance speech, DiCaprio spoke about how climate change is real and took the opportunity to appeal to the world to make a collective effort to bring about change.

Before his historic win at the Oscars, DiCaprio posted a global map on climate change that shows areas highly sensitive to the phenomenon. So, Of the many messages of the Oscars telecast, Leonardo DiCaprio’s was the most important. Also at his speech he thanked fellow nominees, the cast and crew of The Revenant (including best director winner Alejandro Iñárritu), and even past collaborators like Martin Scorsese. And he ended the speech with a big note on the environment.
We (Colombo Beacon) wish Leonardo DiCaprio all the best from the bottom of our hearts and wish him to collect awards more and more and to be a respectable and memorable star in all our hearts forever….!!!!!
