Rupert Grint
Rupert Alexander Lloyd Grint who is well known for his character – Ron Weasley of the Harry Potter film series is an English actor born on 24th August 1988 in Harlow of Essex. Even though young Rupert’s dream was to be an ice cream man he finally ended up being the best friend of Harry which changed his whole life.
Rupert had an interest in theatres that he participated in for school productions from a young age. Even though he did not have any professional experiences he decided to audition for Harry Potter castings which attracted so much crowd due to the popularity of the book series. Just as the wish of Rupert he got selected for the cast he auditioned for – Ron Weasley. In 2001, 11 year old little Rupert marked his debut in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone. He may not have any thoughts on how popular he would be in the future that day. Breaking records for opening day sales and also weekend sales, the very first movie was crowned as the highest-grossing film of 2001. Little Rupert won the “Outstanding New Talent” and “Most Promising Young Newcomer” awards signifying the turning point of his life.
Rather than other characters, Rupert got famous because he adapted Ron’s character with humour, and also he is well known for his surprisingly awesome jokes backstage. From 2001 to 2011 over 10 years Rupert, Emma and Daniel who are well known as Ron, Hermione and Harry almost spent their childhood with the Harry Potter series. Philosopher’s stone, Chamber of the secrets, Prisoner of the Azkaban, Goblet Of Fire, Order Of the Phoenix, Half Blood Prince, Deathly Hallows 1 and 2 – the eight superior movies of the Harry Potter series which broke all the records of the film industry and attracted more than three quarter of the population of the world to be Potterheads was a milestone in Rupert’s life.
Even Though many are only aware of Ron Weasley, Rupert also took part in numerous masterpieces within the Harry Potter period too. Starting from Thunderpants- his first non- Harry Potter film, Driving lessons, Cherrybomb, Wild Target, Come fly with me and many more. After the ending of the Harry Potter series in 2011 which he became very emotional when leaving the crew as the Harry Potter crew itself was a part of his life for more than 10 years, Rupert engaged in many productions and also portrayed his ability to perform other characters rather than Ron Weasley Style. The Drummer, Enemy Man, Servant are some of his dramas and he later appeared in many TV shows as a presenter.
Rupert has a one year old daughter with his longtime girlfriend Georgia Groom who is also a famous actress. Not only in the acting field, but Rupert also is an enthusiastic sports fan. He took part in carrying the Olympic torch through Hendon to Middlesex and also he is known as a supporter of Tottenham Hotspur as a keen football fan. Rupert is also a great supporter to various organizations as a charity worker, donor and a fundraiser. And throughout all the years he won numerous awards including Best cast, Best kiss, Favourite Movie assemble, Best British actor and got nominated for dozens of other categories.
Even Though Rupert went through so many changes his ultimate childhood dream never died. He bought an Ice Cream Van and went on several rides while making his dream come true which caught most of his fans’ love for being simple and adorable.
You may remember how bad Ron pronounces “Wingardium LeviOsa” and a lot of other references if you are a Potterhead. Rupert created a perfect Ron Weasley which will never be forgotten from the world even though many decades have passed from the Harry Potter era.
