Thoughts of an autistic child

Written by Rashmi Leema

Moody, grumpy and clumsy
a social outcast
daunted by the community
“oh! he’s just a faineant”

jumping for joy they be
fellows, they scream
languid and lonely is me
yet I always dream

I wanna row, draw and grow
be a rival to my peers
but they always treat me low
saying,
“you are nothing but peculiar”

You and I both look same
then,
why do you say I’m queer
ain’t seeking fortune or fame
just accept me don’t fear !
