Two families in misery

A man of medium height, with a grim face and an unshaved beard, slowly sat down on a crooked chair. His hands were trembling. He could feel the droplets of blood falling from his hands to the carpeted floor. At the same time, he visualized in his mind how he had washed his hands almost ten times to erase the blood in his hands. His eyes were weary after a strenuous night of keeping under vigil and examining the slightest differences of the behaviour of the man who he killed a while ago.

The mission was accomplished. He was able to stab the owner of the proud owner of a mass business group to death. Sweat was pouring from his face; he was trembling in fear. His soul was aching and yelling the phrase “You killed a man. ”This string of words went piercing through his heart. He reminisced about how he had lived a virtuous life. All his efforts of engaging in meritorious deeds were undermined by a single action; the murder of a person.

Thousands of thoughts were flooding and revolving around his mind. He remembered that due to his anticipation and anxiety, he was not able to brush away all the evidence of the crime. The clock struck 2.00 p.m. In less than 4 hours the town cops will be coming after him.

With that instant thought, he recalled to mind the words of the rival of the person whom he killed a little while ago. ”You’ll get your portion, right after we get confirmed of his death. Remember if you leave any evidence, it is you will who have to pay the price. ”There wasn’t any way of getting back to the location of the crime and fixing things. Already people were flocked at the scene of the crime. He looked at the brown clothe bag of money he received from his master.

Rest assured; he felt relieved at the sight of his family living a contended debt-free life. His family was away from future intimidations. He looked outside from the window, quickly ran into the street and dropped the bag of money beside his wife’s bed. He got a glimpse of his sleeping children cuddled together and stepped out from his house.

Seconds later, he felt a hand of a cop coming around his neck. ”Why did you commit such murder?” the police questioned in a loud voice. The man answered in a timid voice, ”Sir, I had to find a massive amount in a few days to get my family out of debts, and this was my only option.”Tears were rolling down his face.

The beautiful world in which we dwell is corrupted. People become speechless in front of certain junctions they meet in life. Making morally corrects decisions in hardships we encounter in life is the hardest—one action of immorality; two families in misery, at two ends.
